aDDRess Open Day - 25/09/2015

Inspiring future biologists :  aDDRess Open Day-25/09/2015

This year again a successful aDDRess Open Day was held in FORTH  (Heraklion Crete) where many young participants (high school and undergraduate students)  enjoyed the beautiful night, the networking opportunity,  and received a first hand experience. The event was organized as a continuation of the European Researchers' Night on Friday, September 25th  2015.

The Open Day comprised interactive questions & answers sessions on spot and selected lab tours through the facilities, given mostly by the ESR and Lab volunteers  at FORTH.
In a friendly and relaxing atmosphere we ensured that our ITN activities were made known to high school and undergraduate students, as well as the general public.
The topic about the DNA repair and Ageing field attracted the interest of many young students. Pupils had the opportunity to learn about biological sciences and DNA repair in a way that supports their current level of study. They could also talk to our current fellows about their experience of Biology lessons at school and find out more about what it is like to study at degree level.

This event was a perfect chance to inspire the audience to engage with science.

Many thanks to all who where there on Friday and made this event a great networking occasion!
