A successful Outreach activity was held in FORTH (Heraklion Crete) where many young participants (high school and undergraduate students) enjoyed the beautiful night, the networking opportunity, and received a first hand experience. The event was organized as a continuation of the European Researchers' Night on Friday, September 26 th 2014. The Open Day comprised interactive questions & answers sessions on spot and selected lab tours through the facilities, given mostly by the ESR and Lab volunteers at FORTH.
In a friendly and relaxing atmosphere we ensured that our ITN activities were made known to high school and undergraduate students, as well as the general public.
The topic about the DNA repair and Ageing field attracted the interest of many young students. There was a great sense of enthusiasm amongst these young people. Many of them consulted Mrs. Eugenia Tabakaki (Project Manager of aDDRess) who informed them about training in the ITNs Networks . Research advancements and future study plans regarding the work undertaken was addressed by the recruited to the framework of Initial Training Networks (ITN) young scientist (ESR) Kyriakos Agathagellou.
Many thanks to all who where there on Friday and made this event a great networking occasion!
